Lawn Care Built for Charter Colony

Charter Colony has been one of Chesterfield's standout planned communities for more than 20 years, and it's still growing with the new homes in Charter Colony West.

With three clubhouses, the pools, the amphitheater, and the walking trails all kept in top shape, the common areas set a high bar. Your yard should look like it belongs, whether you're walking to Music in the Park or hosting friends after the Fall Festival.

Most complaints we hear about other crews are the same: skipped visits, grass cut too short, clippings left on the driveway, and calls that never get returned. We built our service to fix every one of those.

Original sections

Established Yards

Beautiful mature trees, but 20+ years of shade, roots, and foot traffic take a toll.

  • Thin grass under trees: shade-tolerant fescue seed each fall
  • Heavy leaf drop: leaf mulching every 1–2 weeks in fall
  • Compacted soil: yearly core aeration
  • Overgrown beds: bed renovation and fresh mulch

New Construction Yards

A brand-new home often sits on a thin layer of topsoil over clay packed down by heavy equipment.

  • Unknown soil: a soil test to see what the builder left you
  • Packed-down ground: core aeration to break up compaction
  • Thin new turf: fall overseeding to build density
  • Young lawn: the right feeding to get roots established

Common Questions

How much does lawn care cost in Charter Colony?

Weekly mowing for a standard Charter Colony yard (4,000–10,000 sq ft of grass) is $105 per visit, or $125 every other week. Small yards start at $75, large yards are $135, and estate yards start at $175. Every visit includes mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing. See all plans and prices.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. There's no contract and no membership. Weekly clients get a reserved day for the season and our better rates on seasonal work.

Can you keep my yard up to HOA standards?

Yes. Regular mowing, crisp edges, and clean beds are exactly what HOA inspections look for. If you've received a notice, tell us and we'll get the yard caught up.

I just moved into Charter Colony West. What does my new lawn need?

Start with a soil test, since new-construction yards often sit on thin topsoil over packed clay. From there, fall core aeration and overseeding build density, and the right feeding gets young roots established. Most new lawns take about 18 months to fill in fully.

My grass won't grow under the big trees. Can you fix it?

Usually, yes. Many of the original Charter Colony yards have mature trees that shade the lawn and compete for water. We overseed those areas each fall with shade-tolerant fescue and keep leaves off so new seed isn't smothered. Under very dense shade, a mulched bed is sometimes the better answer, and we'll tell you honestly.

Do I need to be home when you come?

No. We just need access to the yard and any gates unlocked. You'll get a text when we're on the way.

What's the best time to aerate in Charter Colony?

For tall fescue lawns, late August through mid-October, with September the sweet spot. Book early, because fall spots fill fast.
