Lawn Care Built for Magnolia Green

Magnolia Green is one of Central Virginia's most sought-after master-planned communities, and it's still growing, with new sections like Legacy Park and Charleston Landing adding homes every year.

That growth means most Magnolia Green lawns are young: sod or seed laid over builder soil on Chesterfield clay, often still filling in. Homes along the golf course and on bigger homesites face a different test, because they're some of the most visible yards in the community.

Most complaints we hear about other crews are the same: skipped visits, grass cut too short, clippings left on the driveway, and calls that never get returned. We built our service to fix every one of those.

Two Kinds of Magnolia Green Lawns

Newer homes and golf course homesites sit side by side here, and each needs a different kind of care.

New Construction Yards

Many Magnolia Green homes sit on a thin layer of topsoil over clay packed down by heavy equipment, with sod or seed still rooting in.

  • Unknown soil: a soil test to see what the builder left you
  • Packed-down ground: core aeration to break up compaction
  • Thin new turf: fall overseeding to build density
  • New sod: the right watering, mowing and feeding so it knits in

Yards Along the Fairways

Homes facing the course are some of the most visible yards in Magnolia Green, and bigger homesites take a steady routine to look sharp every week.

  • Golf-course curb appeal: crisp edges and stripes every visit
  • Feeding by soil test: only what your lawn actually needs
  • Thin or worn spots: core aeration and overseeding in fall
  • Clean finish: no clippings left on drives, walks or patios

What You Get Every Visit

Not a quick drive-by. Every mow includes the details that make a yard look finished.

  • 1

  • 3
Trim everywhere the mower can't. Around beds, trees, mailboxes, and fence lines.

Common Questions

Weekly mowing for a standard Magnolia Green yard (4,000–10,000 sq ft of grass) is $105 per visit, or $125 every other week. Townhome yards start at $75, large yards are $135, and estate homesites start at $175. Every visit includes mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing. See all plans and prices.

My section's HOA already handles basic mowing. Can you still help?

Yes. Some Magnolia Green sections include basic yard maintenance in the HOA dues. If yours does, we can handle what isn't covered, like soil testing, feeding and weed control, aeration and overseeding, beds and mulch.

My new lawn came with fresh sod. How do I keep it alive?

Water it daily for the first two weeks so the soil underneath stays damp, then back off to deeper, less frequent watering. Hold off on mowing until the sod is rooted, which you can check by gently tugging a corner. We can take it from there with the right mowing height and feeding.

Why does my new lawn look thin even though the builder seeded it?

Builders often spread seed or sod over a thin layer of topsoil on top of compacted clay, so roots struggle to push down. A soil test, fall core aeration, and overseeding are the fastest fix. Most new lawns take about 18 months to fill in fully.

Can you keep my yard up to HOA standards?

Yes. Regular mowing, crisp edges, and clean beds are exactly what HOA inspections look for. If you've received a notice, tell us and we'll get the yard caught up.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. There's no contract and no membership. Weekly clients get a reserved day for the season and our better rates on seasonal work.
